India today paid Iran $ 400 million to clear part of its past dues for crude oil its buys from the Persian Gulf nation and will pay another $ 500 million by the month end. Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd paid about $ 183 million , Essar Oil $ 172 million, Indian Oil Corp $ 41 million and Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd $ 4 million, industry sources said.
Dharwad, Oct. 21- The Dharwad Lokayukta Police have arrested Dr. H. B. Walikar, Vice-Chancellor of Karnatak University, Dharwad and three other Varsity officials under the Prevention of Corruption Act yesterday.
